Cousins and More Cousins

On Christmas we got a chance to see all the cousins together on the Coles side and Eva from my side of the family.

This one is my favorite. Look at the "twins" just talking to each other.

This one is funny too, check out Ethan's face and what is Dylan trying to do to Makaylee?

For Grandma, we put them on the floor in order and I think they look like a xylophone.

When Shana Brad and Eva came to Utah for Christmas, we had to go see them and I got these cute shots of these cousins. Too bad Abby wasn't there or we would have everyone!

William was not cooperating here, I guess it's the oldest cousins job to be a booger.

Christmas

Here we are waiting at the top of the stairs to go down. We had to wake up the boys really early to open presents at our house before we went down to Grandma's house to talk to John on the phone. Can you tell they are not really awake yet?

This is one of the first presents we opened, a Cars (from the movie) set of cars.

Here is the biggest present we gave the boys- a new playroom! We finished our basement before Christmas so we would have somewhere to put all these toys. The boys love it (especially all the room for trains and cars) and we love that their toys are not all over the house.

This is Luke's favorite present. It is a tube you crawl through form Ikea. He just crawls through it over and over and it never gets old to him.

This is the other one of Luke's favorite toys. It is a turtle that you can ride on and it sings to you.

I found the boys doing this one day. I think they are trying to harmonize.

William Loves Toy Story Mania

Wills is really funny when he plays this video game. He is supposed to flick the remote up to put a ball through a hoop but he gets really into it and jumps all over the place.

Stickers!

William found some stickers today.
And put every single one of them on his body.

We met George Bush!!!

President George W. Bush came to Costco November 19th to sign his book. I heard about it on the news the night before and decided we had to go. We woke up about five in the morning, packed up the kids, and drove to Sandy to wait in line. Eric actually forgot his Costco card, so he drove back to our house with the boys while I waited. They were giving out wristbands at 8:00, and Eric got back just in time. Then we waited around for another four hours before we got through Secret Service security. William actually threw up while we were waiting to go through security, I think he just had too much greasy food in his system.

When Bush actually got there, he was signing really fast and the line was moving quickly.

I was kind of embarrassed about the way we all looked, William had just thrown up, both the boys were so tired and hungry and grumpy and they both fell asleep before we actually got in there, and my hair was so windblown that I couldn't get it to look nice at all.

He was really nice. He asked us how old our kids were, and said "that's what it's all about." You could tell he is a family guy. He joked about them looking for their beds, which we all were from being up so early. He shook our hands and thanked us for being there. It was so cool!

These pictures are all from the news because they wouldn't let us take cameras in. These pictures of the boys below are with my camera phone to prove we actually were there.

And here's Eric with his signed book after we got home.

How to get in trouble with Mom

Step 1: Push the stool up to the counter so you can get the scissors out of the knife block.

Step 2: Cut the bag of crayons open.

Step 3: Get caught and have your picture taken with the evidence.

Step 4: Finally get those crayons you worked so hard for.

Step 5: Make the "You can't get mad at me" face for Mom, not in trouble anymore.

Luke's First Birthday

Luke turned ONE on Sunday. We had the family over for dinner and cake to celebrate. Luke got some great presents and new clothes. The only problem now it making William share, because he thinks the new toys are his.

Here is my little baby in his birthday crown.

Some highlights, you can click on the pictures to see them bigger.

This was my favorite cake eating picture. You can see the cake hanging right off his face.

Just in case anyone is interested...

I made the halloween costume using MADE tutorials. Dana is great at explaining in an easy-to-follow-way how to sew clothes.

The red fabric is a knit that is super stretchy and kind of has a sheen, it was some kind of cotton/lycra mix I think. It is supposed to look like spandex but a little thicker so they wouldn't freeze. The black fabric is an old cotton t-shirt. Here is the shirt tutorial (which I made to fit tight so it would look like spandex), here is the undies tutorial, and the pants I made with a mix between the top of these pants, and the arms of the 90 minute shirt.

The incredible symbol is felt sewn on the the shirt, and Dana has some good tips for that here. The belt is a strip of felt with lines of straight stitching so it wouldn't stretch like crazy, and it was safety pinned in the back (I couldn't find my velcro).

So there you go, two incredibles costumes that are not perfect, but it was my first attempt at sewing clothes from knits, and I think they turned out well. I got better with Luke's because I did his second. If you want to see pictures of both, they are here and here.

Some Really Cool Pumpkins

They had a display in Disneyland with a bunch of really cool carved pumpkins. Can you tell what they all are?

Halloween at Disneyland

We met a lot of new characters when we went to Disneyland this last time. William loved Sully and actually gave him a hug.

He was terrified of Jack Skellington, he wouldn't even look at him.

Here is the hag from Snow White...

the Queen of Hearts...

and Frollo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

We also saw Pocohontas on a bridge. It was cool for Eric to meet his great grandma, and William was checking out her legs. Weird, because I guess she is his great grandma too. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let Eric tell you.

This is in the Mexican restaurant. They had pretty cool decorations for Dia de los Muertos, and I don't know if I spelled that right.

I though it was really fun to meet Frozone when the boys were Incredibles.

And we had to meet Tinkerbell when William was Peter Pan. We brought last year's halloween costume because it still fit and he still loves it.

This is Duffy, Mickey's Teddy Bear. I think he is new, and they had stickers that said, "I hugged Duffy", so I had to hug him.

Here are the boys again. William was helping Luke with his bottle.

And one more of the Incredibles. This was supposed to be a nice, still pose but they both started to run away as soon as I put them there, and now it's perfect for the costumes.

(I don't know why this is fuzzy here, if you click on the picture it will not be fuzzy.)

William's Now Famous Bed

This is the screen-shot of one of my favorite blogs to follow, ana-white.com, and my picture of William's bed has been on the front page for two days now! See it down there in the bottom left corner? I am so cool, and practically famous!

Happy Halloween!

I have more pictures for later, but here is a look at my incrediboys. This is their fighting stance. See the fists?

I Miss Summer Already

These are older pictures, but I found them looking through my old files and I had to post them. They make me want to play outside.

I think the sky is beautiful in these shots. Look at this cute little fuzzy-head!

Yes that is my car in my backyard, and yes William is wearing a pink swim diaper. They didn't have blue ones at the store.
